Whisky 18


When the going gets rough the Whisky gets going. After the incredible success of the Whisky 16, we had to develop the Whisky 18. Just like the Whisky 16 (also designed by Nigel Foster), this is a comfortable, easily maneuvered, and stable craft that inspires confidence. It is an ideal boat in which to develop kayaking skills and its generous loading capacity makes it the ideal craft for extended, self-contained expeditions.

For the experienced paddler it is a spirited touring kayak. With a fuller bow and stern shape to reduce plunging, the Whisky 18 is designed for negotiating rough waters and for having fun on surf and current. It also provides an excellent platform for instructing.



The Whisky 18 is manufactured with vacuum-bagged fiberglass strengthened with honeycombed core-matt for improved rigidity and lightness. It has two large oval hatches, aft and bow; a large round day hatch behind the cockpit for access to items while on the water; and the whisky hatch, a smaller round hatch in front of the cockpit, which opens to an underdeck compartment.



The padded cockpit comes fitted with an ergonomically designed seat which provides excellent support as well as providing the close contact needed when rough-water playing, and a highly functional back support that offers great comfort and lumbar support.



The compass recess on the foredeck accommodates a Silva 70P compass which is optional. The Whisky 18 is standard-fitted with a retractable skeg and footrests. It is also available with an optional rudder control system.
